Does this sound familiar?

  • Your loss feels like a long time ago, but you also feel like your thoughts and feelings are in the same place as when it happened.

  • You want to discuss your loss and grief with others, but the people you know don't want to listen, often say the wrong thing, or seem to judge you because of the nature of your loss or your way of dealing with it.

  • You've tried or are currently receiving support from a therapist, coach, or another group, but it never feels like enough or isn't quite what you were hoping to find.

Don't worry, we can help!

What Makes This Different?

Led by a Grief Expert

This group is led by a grief therapist with over 5-years' experience in grief group facilitation. While this group is not therapy nor a medical service, guidance provided is informed by current, evidence-based insights from the psychology of grief and loss.

Educational Content

Group meetings may, at times, begin with a short educational segment presented by the group leader. The truth is that most of us are never taught about death, loss, grief, and mourning. Most people shy away from these topics, but at Evolving Lives, we know that part of working through these difficult times is understanding what it is we are experiencing.

Challenging yet Rewarding

You may or may not have heard before: Grief work is hard work. Time heals wounds a bit, but seldom enough to feel satisfying or to allow you to explore life going forward. This group is designed to be a safe space to be vulnerable share your story; we also hope community members feel safe enough to be encouraged by the group leader to think, feel, and share more deeply.

Individual Attention

Part of participants being challenged to consider one's loss more deeply, the group leader may guide focus toward a specific theme, story, or even participant. You are always free to decline to share, but the hope is that everyone will have opportunities to take more space and time in the group during a session. Hearing someone explore their loss more deeply often prompts new thoughts for others; we hope everyone can benefit from this deeper give and take.

A Community that Cares

Our community is intended to be confidential, nonjudgmental, and inclusive. We hope community members will be interested and comfortable connecting with and supporting one another outside of meetings. Individual grief heals best with opportunities for communal mourning.

MEET Your Guide

Hi, I'm Alexander!

I'm a mental health therapist, coach, and speaker dedicated to helping clients and audiences improve their mental health and explore themes of identity and meaning.

I believe complicated grief is among the most challenging yet underserved needs; yet, when worked through effectively, it can offer some of the most powerful personal growth I've seen.

I'm excited to bring my experience and this new community to Evolving Lives!
